What is Refractive Surgery?
Refractive surgery is surgery on the eye, with the intent of changing the way that light enters the eye. It can correct problems with the vision, such as farsightedness, nearsightedness, or astigmatism. This can allow many people who wear glasses or contacts to be free of the hassle of corrective lenses. Procedures can be done on the cornea (the clear part at the front of the eye) or the lens (the structure behind the pupil that changes shape to change your focus point). LASIK is the best-known of these procedures, but it’s certainly not the only one. We’ll show you your options, so you can make the most informed decision about having refractive surgery.
This section of Doctor Review is devoted to the refractive surgical procedures that can help you shed your glasses or contacts and see the world clearly through your own beautiful eyes.
